What is it?

About CryoPen Skin Lesion Removal

CryoPen treatment uses a fine, controlled jet of nitrous oxide gas to freeze targeted benign skin lesions. The extreme cold destroys the treated tissue, allowing the body to gradually shed or clear the lesion as the skin heals naturally. Treatment is quick and minimally invasive, making it a convenient option for patients looking to address certain unwanted skin imperfections without surgical removal. All lesions must be individually assessed before treatment to confirm suitability. Following assessment, CryoPen may be suitable for skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas, age spots and sun spots, seborrhoeic keratoses, and selected warts and verrucae. Not every lesion is suitable for CryoPen, and treatment suitability will be determined during your consultation. Moles or lesions that are new, changing, bleeding, irregular or otherwise suspicious will not be treated cosmetically and may require medical assessment first.

Is this right for me?

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What skin lesions can CryoPen treat?

Following individual assessment, CryoPen may be suitable for skin tags, milia, cherry angiomas, age spots and sun spots, seborrhoeic keratoses, and selected warts and verrucae. Not every lesion is suitable, and suitability is confirmed at your consultation.

Is CryoPen safe for moles?

Moles or lesions that are new, changing, bleeding, irregular or otherwise suspicious will not be treated cosmetically with CryoPen. These may require medical assessment first. Your safety is our priority, and all lesions are assessed before any treatment is agreed.

Does CryoPen treatment hurt?

You may experience a brief stinging or burning sensation during treatment as the cold gas is applied. Most clients find this well-tolerated. The sensation typically passes quickly once the application is complete.

What happens after treatment?

The treated area may become red, swollen, blistered or develop a small scab as part of the normal healing process. This is expected and resolves as the skin heals. Healing time varies according to the lesion and its location.

Will I need more than one session?

Some lesions may require more than one session, particularly larger or more stubborn lesions such as warts and verrucae. This will be discussed at your consultation and reviewed following your initial treatment.
